Texas Home and Land

Tim Maxfield

As a lifelong Athenian, my family has deep roots in East Texas.  The values to respect and care for the land were instilled early and they have guided my life. Earning a BBA from the University of Texas in 1980 broadened and sharpened my training for the real estate business.     After obtaining my Broker’s license in1994 I worked in the real estate industry both in Dallas and Athens developing my skills necessary to facilitate both residential and acreage properties.

Being in Texas also provided me with access to the oil & gas industry – primarily involving land work.  This is direct interaction with the mineral owner and surface owner to reach agreements necessary to explore and develop a subject property for oil and gas development.   My years of experience allowed me to qualify as a Certified Professional Landman – the highest rank of professionalism recognized in the industry.  Whether representing a mineral owner or the oil & gas producer, I have the skill necessary to achieve my client’s objectives with success.

I make my home at Lake Athens, married for 28 years to my wonderful wife Tracy.  We have one daughter and one granddaughter.  We enjoy the lake’s beauty and try to go out for a boat ride whenever time allows (which seems like never?).  I feel blessed the life God has given me and try to live according to Proverbs 3:5-6.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understandingIn all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
